Does the card have the "sapphire" picture on the heat sink and Serial Number sticker on the back?

Or do the graphics on the cooler look like this?

    Thanks! What's DAC/ADC mean btw?

So since it's got the graphics and logo, it's definitely not OEM?

sorry missed that, sill a chance of OEM if they've got some deal with sapphire, personally I'd bug them for it, esp when you bought a complete system.

(edit I know there OcUK own brand cards come OEM direct from ATi )

Ok, talked to them and apparently it is OEM despite having the retail picture on it and logo (unlike that pic of the other OEM card you got Pob). Damn.

Hmm thinking of putting my PC in another room to get rid of fan noise, as I'm pretty novice to PC hardware have a perhaps silly question - would a 25m VGA cable be any slower/get input lag compared to a standard or 1/3m one? I'm guessing not considering internet works faster than the speed of sound, but just checking - I never got the hang of electronics in school.

Signal will travel at ~speed of light so no worry about lag, but as it's analogue it's possibly going to be more prone to degradation and/or interferance over such a long distance.

If I'm honest, I'd just buy some quieter fans.

Re: Will a DVI male (monitor), VGA male (PC) cable work the other way around?

Ah ok, thanks, just like phone lines/broadband then.

dave: They are pretty quiet, actually quieter than my old PC I think - It's an antec 1200 case with the defaults - big 200mm on top, 2x 120mm front and 2x 120mm rear, all set to lowest - I'd just prefer 0 noise really, that's why I was looking into watercooling before mainly (before I found out they have fans anyway as well )

hmm... another little question, anyone know if stringing together two (5m) USB extension cables is ok, would work and not produce any lag etc either? Can't find a 10m one to buy.

Re: Will a DVI male (monitor), VGA male (PC) cable work the other way around?

You can daisy chain them but they might start dropping power etc.. so it depends what the device is I suppose.

Re: Will a DVI male (monitor), VGA male (PC) cable work the other way around?

erk, not good. Thanks. g15 (new orangelight v) and razer diamondback (original version) mouse, prob not too much power, but I don't think I'll risk it then - I'll just try find somewhere a little nearer to put the big metal box. Cannot find a 10m USB ext. cable ANYWHERE.

Re: Will a DVI male (monitor), VGA male (PC) cable work the other way around?

Well it's all to do with the actual length. It's not just daisy chaining which causes these problems its the overall length so you probably won't find one.

A powered usb hub in the middle might help.

hmm ok, don't think I've ever seen a USB hub that's not powered by a PC though, dunno what I should look for? I suppose could setup a cheapo case and PSU and plug into that, but a bit of a waste

Re: Will a DVI male (monitor), VGA male (PC) cable work the other way around?

Ah great. Duh that should have been an obvious search!

    Thanks, lol.

    hmm so....

mouse/keyboard --plug into--> 5m extension --plug into--> USB hub input.... USB hub output (the connector for the PC) --plug into--> 2nd 5m extension --plug into--> PC.

That'd actually work without being any laggier than directly connected? I'm just thinking not sure whether hubs do extra processing or what.
