Hey guys,
I have my hard drives set to turn off after 30 mins when not in use, as I wonder away from the PC frequently, and Ive noticed that this drive makes a noticeably louder click when it turns off compared to my other 3 drives (samsung 501LJ and 2 western digitals)
So I was just wondering if anyone elses drive has a loud click/if I should be worried?

Ps. When the PC shuts down and the drive stops spinning, it doesnt emit this loud click (its a lot quieter)
that's the 1TB Samsung, yeah?
i only use my 1TB Samsung as a backup drive, so it often turns itself off, and mine makes the same loud click.
it's also noticeably louder than the 2x 320GB Samsungs i have when it's being accessed, i'm pretty sure this is due to the 3 platters instead of 1.
i don't think you should really be worried.

I dont notice hdd noise anymore seeing as the gfx cards I seem to get drown out any other noise from the case now...
