Thermalright hr-03 heatsinks!
Got the following vga cooler for my 8800gtx:

They come with ram coolers that originally has mildly sticky things that go on the ram on your gfx card.
However they have since become unsticky and now everytime i put them on, they come undone, because the card is upside down, and gravity takes its toll.
I tried using double sided sticky tape, but to no avail.
Does anyone have any suggestions? i was thinking of maybe using arctic silver thermal epoxy:

but i didnt want anything metal based? so i have no risk of putting too much on and it going all over the gfx card etc
Thanks

Epoxy will be practically permanent, you can get some thermal tape from Ebay, I got some and they are more sticky than the stock ones.
You need to note that you have to clean the RAM chips properly otherwise any glue may not stick well.

Semi-Permanent so it will stick until you want to get it off then it will come off grudgingly (but will come off!) It is also quite thin which is important as you don't want a huge layer of tape as this slows down the heat transfer.

yeah true. I think that the epoxy will have a better heat transfer tho, and also, i dn't really mind if it is permanent, probably better if it is, because i doubt i will find a better way to cool the gfx card.
Re: Thermalright hr-03 heatsinks!
I doubt the epoxy will have better thermal transfer unless it is a really thin layer free of any air bubbles.
Permanent means that you will never be able to take it off again so if you change graphics cards you will need new ram sinks. Or if you sell the card you will have to part with the cooler as well as the will be no way of reapplying the stock cooler.
I would personally not want to stick something irreversibly to my graphics card hence the thermal tape.

yeah i think you have convinced me.
I ended up buying that akasa double sided tape.
Thanks Webby.
