Failing POST question
Hi all,
I am planning on running tests on my machine tonight and tweeking the FSB and memory.
I have heard many people say "memory failed to POST"
Would I be correct in thinking if I tweek for example my memory too much and the comp fails to boot or just closes down all I have to do is clear ther CMOS and start again ?
I just want to make sure I don't set the hardware to a state where I can't get at it to fix the problem. I'm sure you all know what I am trying to say lol It is Monday morning after all.
Cheers

Theoretically, yes. Not sure if your ASUS is the same as mine though. I had a few problems with it lately, but now it works fine. Also, if I push it too far, just reboot and it automatically loads with previous settings (I'm sure that's what happens anyway!).
Just remember, patience is a virtue in this game. Do it slowly, a couple of MHz here and there, and couple of RAM timings dropped rather than trying all at once and you should be fine.
One last thing, remember it IS risky and you could potentially cause damage eq by overclocking, so please do so at your own risk!
