Laptop to TV via S - video?

Im trying to connect my Acer Aspire 7110 to an old Panasonic TV via the S video -> RCA cable (yellow 9 pin female plug on laptop, to the video in on the TV). The laptop detects the TV, installs the TV then displays the TV under the display properties, yet the TV remains blank whatever i try!

iv checked the bios, laptop drivers, restarted them both and im stuck for ideas!

Has anyone had any similar problems to this, or found a work around?

Yep, tried all of that! Desbite trying those settings & those within the Intel media accelerator the TV stays blank.

AFAIK the laptop detects the fact its plugged into a 'generic TV', and it lets you adjust all the settings, the TV just stays blank.
