Laptop RAM upgrade dilema
Hi all,
Merry Christmas to everyone here by the way.
Ive just got my present, a new laptop (Packard Bell EasyNote BG45-U-300, dual core 1.87Ghz, 1GB RAM, 80GB HDD 12"). Now obviously its not got enough RAM since its running vista, and ive got it all set up and im idling at 80%. I knew it would need more, but I have a dilema about what to get.
Its rated to 667mhz stuff, and has 2 slots, currently it has one filled with 1GB of nania stuff. (for some reason running at 533mhz, not sure about that, not really bothered either tbh)
So my options are:
1)One of these: http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/1GB-S...ECC-Unbuffered (not sure about this as I dont like mixing modules or speeds and here im doing both, though this is the cheapest option and im sure the motherboard will just make them run the same speed)
2)2 of the samsung 1GB modules above and sell the nania on ebay or something (That way I have two of the same modules 2GB total)
3)2 of these: http://www.scan.co.uk/Product.aspx?WebProductId=934277 (again two the same but 4GB total)
Now im only using this for work stuff and web browsing, listening to music so Im leaning towards option 2 since I doubt ill need 4GB and its running vista 32bit and I dont plan on upgrading to 64bit (atleast in the foreseeable future as its got no DVD drive and I dont have an external). But never the less I was hoping for some opinions and ideas.
Thanks very much for your helps guys.

1GB + 2GB = 3GB is perfectly fine. The speed difference is not noticable. The CPU on the laptop is probably too slow to make use of the dual channel memory anyway.
Re: Laptop RAM upgrade dilema
4GB would be waste, option 2 would be a good shout. arthurleung u got a dell mini 9, what do u think? was thinking of getting one for uni work, what's battery/general running like?

Very nice piece of kit, serves me well as portable media player. Can't really do serious work on it though, keyboard is just too small to type fast.
Battery is alright, last for 3.5 hours browsing and around 2.5 hours for video playing. It could get hot to touch after an hour or two if you're using it on the bed, since it have no fan.
The power supply is very light and tiny so there is no reason not to bring it along, so battery life is not really that much of a problem.
