PSU Case and GFX for home server

    Hi

I plan on building a low powered home server based on dual core atom cpu unless anyone has better options. I dont know much about cases or psu, gfx cards that would be suitable for running this low powered system, so advice would be appreciated.

    Thanks and merry xmas

Well, I found this on scan:
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Gigab...ni-ITXSee-Info

Not sure whether I speak for all Atom boards or just this one (I dont know much on them except they are reeaally reaally small), but this one has onboard graphics, so you dont need a graphics card - especially as it is a home server so I take it you wont be doing anything crazy on it.

I also found this silverstone case which includes a PSU:
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Silve...-with-120W-PSU
And by what I've looked at on Scan (another 3 more cases), they include low wattage (but surely enough) PSU's, varying from 100 - 250 watt.

Hope that helps a little, merry christmas.

It's a nice case - and worth checking here if you're looking over the next few days: http://www.scan.co.uk/TodayOnly/#13

Re: PSU Case and GFX for home server

The atom boards have onboard graphics which are adequate for server duties they will not play games well and will not help with decoding video but for displaying a desktop you couldn't ask for more

If you wanted more powerful graphics your out of luck unless you can find a PCI graphics card as the atom boards are limited to a single PCI slot.

Case wise the silverstone's are nice (but I'm biased as I own a few ) if you want to have a look at what else is available then look here http://linitx.com/viewcategory.php?catid=64 by no means a complete list of what is available but a much wider selection than Scan stock.

Linitx also offer a wider selection of motherboards including the duel core (330) atoms http://linitx.com/viewcategory.php?c...10&pp=137,1010
