Thermaltake 12cm Thunderblade - 78CFM @ 21dB?

Been looking for a few more Red fans for my Antec 900, red led's, quiet and quite a high CFM and found this:
Thermaltake A1927 12cm Thunderblade Red LED Fan

Its stated as:
Fan Speed 2000 RPM
Max. Air Flow 78 CFM
Noise 21dB

Which to me seems amazing or complete BS, especially at £4 a fan.

I'm wondering what you guys think of it? Any experience? Is it all liez?

Also its stated on specialtech as being 4pin but is also supposed to have a wire which monitors RPM (which is really what i'm looking for in a fan) yet this:

Shows that its a 4pin molex aswell as a yellow wire for RPM monitoring.. surely that meens its going to be hell trying to wire it up to a fan controller :S

The other fan i'm looking at is the Yate Loon, which is a more believable 23dB, 46CFM.

I already have two Xilence red LED fans at the front of the case but i'm also not sure if they have RPM monitoring :S and I don't think the 68 CFM is accurate from what i've heard either.. though I havn't actually used them yet.

Which fans though, more Xilence, Thermaltake or Yate Loon?

On the whole the Yate loons are speced right so if they say 80cfm they will do that in free air (I won't go into the whole free air against in case ratings surfice to say a fan in a case will not achieve its rated value for airflow) so fans which are the same dimensions and have similar design will have similar flow rates for the same rpm.

As to monitoring fan speeds if the fan has a 3 pin connection it will have speed monitoring, if it has 4 pins and is a PWM it will still have rpm monitoring, a 4 pin (molex) connector will not have rpm monitoring.

I would go for the Yates or more Xilence probably lean towards the Xilence as they will sound the same as the ones you already have which will make it sound quieter (fans with different sounds will sound louder in combination than all the same).

As for the thermaltake fan you listed above the cfm is probably about right for a 2000rpm 120mm fan but the noise level is well off it is more likely going to be 35 - 40 dB.

21dB is like 30CFM range. 80CFM and up is 40dB+

There's also the matter of colour and brightness when considering LED fans, differing makes and models will also often be slightly different colours and brightnesses.
So if you want all the led glows to match you want to buy all the same fans.

Yeah, I'd quite like them to match.

On a side note, without starting a new topic... I can't find any UV black light cathodes for PC anywhere.. :S and I don't really want to mod one bought for b&q for molex nor have external cables entering the case.

Black light meaning UV so look for a UV CCFL plenty around but here is a link to an example

Black Light is the strange US term for Ultra Violet light, really confusing as it's the wrong end of the spectrum for black, InfraRed would be closer to "Black" light as the colour frequencies get darker at that end.
Although both work as "Black" as neather are in the visible spectrum
