I think the Phenom II is priced too high!!! The price of the 940 needs to drop to around £200 to £210 and the price of the 920 to £160 to £170. The existing 2.6 ghz Phenom 9950BE is below £150 currently and the Q6600 and Q8200 is also around this price too. AMD need a competitor to the Q6600 and Q8200 and if the Phenom II 920 can drop to this price level or slightly higher it will have a very good chance. Also it would also tempt more people to upgrade too.

Pitching the Phenom II 920 and 940 at similiar pricepoints to the cheaper i7 processors and more expensive Q9*** is not the best idea if they want to maximise sales. They need to do what ATI did with the HD38** and HD48** series and have them at pricepoints where they are the best performing for the money.

I was comparing at the same price point. The 4 core is how much more expensive?
