Thermaltake Tsunami

Any one got any experience with this case?

I may spoil myself after bonus time and I have been researching a nice case, looks and function wise. It would be for the PC in my sig below, want a quiet Rig.

Its a little big but its is my current favourite as I quite like the idea of a doored PC with an attractive aluminium bezel

other choices would be the Antec Solo

Not in love with the CM-690, too many panel holes and don't need that many fans

Antec solo is great right up until you try to install a GTX260 which is physically too long. The HDD suspension and panel damping do make a difference and the PC was surprisingly quiet. Inserting the HDDs between the elastic bands is more difficult than it sounds.

I'd take the Lian Li over the Thermaltake and day of the year...

I had bad experiences with a poorly made Soprano DX with zero airflow, which is almost the same as the Tsunami except the door is a little different...

Out of thoes 3 cases, I'd deffinately go for the Lian-Li PC60F :)

lian li anyday - the tsunami is pretty old now and is a bit dated for newer hardware.

i was also attracted to the Tsunami, i still have it but for a really old computer, its noisy and the fan under the front door collects dust like you wouldn't imagine, the aluminum is really cheap and i think its poorly made.. the best case i have seen is antec p182, and lian li series..

The Silverstone Prescision internals look just like the CM330 (i.e. cheap tool free design)

The Temjin TJ05 is just too big unfortunately

Hiper Osiris or if you fancy a door the Anubis they have a meshed side panel but you could easily put a sheet of Acrylic on the back to cover it if you didn't want the side open.

Well it should work well enough and you can always uses screws instead.
ps the Thermaltake Soprano Tsunami uses the same type of tooless clips, and the same basic cage structure

So yes it is a bit basic, however I only sugested it as a cheaper alternative to the Lian-Li PC60F / PC-7F (the diference between them is only the front panel and the 7F has a side window, I personally think the 7F is nicer looking)
It's a very nice mid-tower case, some people have complained about the simple hard disk tray system, because it simply slides in and hooks in place by gravity. well as long as you're not moveing your case about alot or turning it on it's side there should be no problems.

Bit late to the party, but: I have had a thermaltake tsunami for a few years now and though it was great when I got it the cooling I think is not up to the standard of newer cases and also it only just fit my GTX260, also mounting a PSU in it is a pain due to the strut across the case in front of the PSU. So, a few years ago I would have said it's the best case for the price, but now I would say no, avoid. Hope that helps. :)
