antec p182 lower chamber fan?
hey is there any way i can get a fan (maybe a 92mm?) into this small space. I want to blow cool air onto the hdd's to the rear of the case where the other fan will blow it on further.

or any other methods of keeping hdd's cooler? can't put them in the upper chamber because my graphic card obscures the chamber.
Thanks
Re: antec p182 lower chamber fan?
How many are you using, iirc, my P182 lower chamber allowed the use of 4 HDDS? if you're using 3 or less you could simply place a 92mm fan at the front of the chamber. (actually inside the hdd rack)
Re: antec p182 lower chamber fan?
im using 2 hdds. i kind-of wanted to use a fan to blow through the chamber so that all the hdd's are cooled.
Re: antec p182 lower chamber fan?
i actualyl wouldnt bother, the fan behind them will pull the heat from the HDD. so its effectively pointless.
but maybe useful: http://uk.youtube.com/watch?v=fVl4jGm1hbs
Re: antec p182 lower chamber fan?
true but my hdd's are running at about 27 degrees, which is ok i guess, but the lower the better.
I'm still wondering if a low profile 92mm would fit in there?
Re: antec p182 lower chamber fan?
Not sure how different the P180 case is, but in the lower chamber of my P180 there is a fan in the middle between the PSU and the HD cage. Nowhere to put a fan on a P182 there?
Re: antec p182 lower chamber fan?
i already have a fan in there and is pulling the heat from the hdd cage
but i also want a fan pushing the heat fowards the fan between the psu and hdd cage.
Re: antec p182 lower chamber fan?
27c is nothing to worry about tbf
Re: antec p182 lower chamber fan?
+1 - 27c is pretty good, nothing to worry about
Re: antec p182 lower chamber fan?
If you do a little drilling of the bottom cage and reposition the rails it slides into the case on then you can get a full 120 x 120 x 25 fan in that slot. See this SPCR thread for details.
If you don't want to do any modding then Yate Loon sell a 120 x 120 x 20 mm fan that I think will fit in that slot. Otherwise I think you'd be limited to smaller diameter fans. But as the others above have said you don't need another fan. 27C HDD temperatures are more than adequate. Mine run at about 33C in my P182, manafacturers rate hard disk as capable of operating in up to 50C temperatures.
