corsair tx 650 to gigabyte 73pvm mobo

i'm trying to build a new computer with a gigabyte ga 73pvm-s2h mobo and a cosair tx 650w psu i connected it all up pretty confident i got all the leads in the right places, went to start it up and nothing. no lights on the mobo not even a sound. theres loads of leads from the psu but i can't seem to find anywhere to put them. theres two 6+2 pin pci-e connectors but theres no socket for them not even on the graphics card. also there only one socket either for the hard drive or optical drive so i can only plug one of them in. any help would be much appreciated
    thanx

p.s, - the psu definnetly works because i've tried it on my current setup

First are you sure everything is correctly installed? You have both the 24pin and separate 4 pin connectors plugged in to the motherboard and they have both clicked into play?

You are sure the CPU is installed correctly and the memory as well?

As to only having one socket for the HDD and optical I assume you are talking about IDE drives in which case you can have 2 devices attached on the same cable.

PCI-e connectors are only required for graphics cards that need the additional power so if the graphics card you have got does not require one don't worry about it.

If there is no light it is very likely your motherboard is broken.

There are quite a few basic thing that you can check:
    1. Have you switched on the PSU on the back and on the wall (Motherboard light should come on)
    2. Your power button (cable) is working, you can try shorting the pin with a screw driver.
    3. Disconnect any fan or harddrives that is connected (could be a short circuit)

Very likely you're using a SATA hard drive that doesn't need that setting at all.
If you only have one IDE optical drive, it doesn't matter what setting you use. (Master, Slave, Cable Select have no differences if there is only one device)
