    Unhappy Dead SN45G...

Help! My very nice 3 month old SN45G has just died!
Working very nicely the other night, but when i went to reboot the thing to try a further overclock the thing refused to boot.

Very strange, the power indicator LED on the motherboard is on when the power lead is connected, but when I try to turn the thing on the front LEDs flash once and the only thing that happens is the drives and fan spin up. The motherboard seems to do nothing, and i have tried disconnecting various parts, attached a different PSU.

Any suggestions for further troubleshooting before I send the thing back?

    1. disconnect the power cord.
    2. clear CMOS
    3. Restart the computer holding down the insert key.
    4. enter BIOS and reload optimal settings
    5. save and exit
    6. let the system restart before you touch it again.

If you have changed the bios and interupted the restart then your board is dead.
    Here's hoping it isn't

Yeah, that would be it then.
Trying to get a more stable overclock by giving the RAM some more juice. Btw, would it have killed the motherboard just changing this setting from Auto to the 2.6V the memory should have, or just because the memory specification was lower than what I set it to in the bios? (just thinking about any warranty issues).

Ah well, thanks everyone. At least I know now!

From what I have read any change at all to RAM voltages kills the SN45G
You can confirm you do have a Rev 2 moboby checking the rev number at the edge of mobo PCB by the AGP slot....

I am not going anywhere near that setting in mine !!

Yay! My computer has been reincarnated.
Actually, just got it back from Cpu City with a new case and motherboard. They were very helpful, cos i sent them the whole computer along with what I had done as far as troubleshooting was concerned and they just transferred all my stuff into a new SN45G.
