    Best PSU ~£50?

Well my mates PSU is making sparks and stuff so he needs to replace his.
    His system specs are this:
    CPU: E5200
GPU: 9600GT (will probs be upgraded for a gtx 260/4870 eventually)
    Ram: 4gb ddr 2 pc6400
    2 hard drives
    Fans
    Mobo: Biostar TP45-HP s775 MoBo
    Think thats it.

Im unsure what wattage he would need but i guess it wont be much? system would be probs 300W tops so a 500W PSU should be the sweet point correct?. I have no issue with the Xclio 700W PSU as its rock solid and good value so was just checking if there is any other PSU to consider, corsair seem to be expensive now.

    Re: Best PSU ~£50?

Still thinking the Xclio is the best option, made by CWT same as the 450 corsair iirc and its been rated highly in reviews with it being quiet and rock solid, seems more efficient than corsair aswell at 88%. Should be asking if there is better PSU around that are similar value with wattage along with amps because the xclio has 4 rails afaik(mistake on 700w version as package says 3 but its 4 so id bet its the same with 650w) which has 18 amps on each.

If your going to upgrade to a GTX 260/4870 eventually like you say I do suggest that 560W Silverstone ST56F Strider that CAT-THE-FIFTH listed and it in today only for £44.84

    Re: Best PSU ~£50?

For what its worth the Seasonic or Silverstone would get my vote, i have used both makes in various rigs over the years and they have been rock solid.
