Speedfan vs Hwmonitor Intel i7 temp differences
Hello,
I have run both Speedfan and CPUID Hardware monitor to look at temperatures for the Intel i7 processor (Dell Studio XPS, Vista 64bit, 6GB DDR3 RAM, ATI4850 card).
Speefan shows 6 cores and CPUID shows 4. Also there is a large difference in temperatures.
Does anyone know which would be more accurate?

I'd say HWMonitor is much more reliable than speedfan in my experience.

Personally i have NEVER like speed fan, the temperatures and voltages are all over the place.
-63c?
Mind you the other pice of software you are using isn't much better, the voltage readings seem to agree with speedfans.
Try Coretemp / realtemp for temperature monitoring.

I agree.
Coretemp here

speedfan has a bug where the temps are shown 15 degrees lower than the real temperature.
