Completed Build - With Pics!

Hey there,

It seems a long time ago now, and hard to believe, but back in august 2008 i was asking for advice on a £250 budget PC. Now look at my specs! (sig) a tad overbudget don't you think?

It took me till now to get everything, but its worth it.

Here it is... (the last pic was taken without drivers so thats why image on screen looks off)

Re: Completed Build - With Pics!

You went rather overboard on the PSU a 450VX would of been better and cheaper
personally wouldn't of gone with the ACf7p would of gone with the cheaper Akasa AK-965 or more expensive with something bigger
Not too sure on the budget p35 motherboard ether.

But all told not too shabby should run very well and very nice graphics card

I have three excuses

1. AF7 does fine really. 45* full load on a 4ghz overclock cant be bad (32* idle)
2. I plan to SLI another GTX260 in the future, so will need the PSU
3. The p35 does fine, but of course will replace it for SLI. Wasnt keen on spending loads on a motherboard that will need to be upgraded for i7 anyways.

Nice rig you built yourself! Like the glossy cover on the GPU, neat touch.

I don't think you can really put budgets on PCs, as soon as you begin to look at various hardware parts you think ah well another £40 wouldn't hurt, before you know it you've more than doubled it.

Heh, i knew someone would say it.

If it does all i want, and overclocks so well, why would i spend more than what i have done on a motherboard?

All you need to do now is tidy up your cables a bit. Nice build though. Nice case!

To me the motherboard is the most important component of the pc, always an area for upgrade when a new one comes out.

Why? your screen will only display a maximum of 60fps! Use vsync and let your card chill out once it hits that 60

80-100 is presumably the average, not minimum framerate.
