    Gaming mousemats

I currently run my mouse on my wooden desk but I'm thinking of upgrading to a good mousepad, I'd seen the steelseries SP and found some good reviews for it and was about to order it when I read that laser mice wouldn't work on it, which is no good as I'm going to get a sidewinder.

Obviously mousemats aren't as straightforward as I'd thought, so I tried to look for a comprehensive group test or a mousemat's buyers guide but I didn't find much apart from some vauge mention of cloth and hard mousemats.

So can anyone give me advice on the different types, what I should be looking for or any other well-reviewed models of mousemat availible in the UK?

Laser Mice work fine on those surfaces, ive got a deathadder on one which is fine and a Habu on the other (which is laser I believe) and thats fine also.

Deathadder is Infra Red, but the Habu is indeed Laser.

I have 2 Everglide Titan mouse mats and love them both (got the reg and Fnatic). My mouse glides very well and they are durable. I have had the reg one for a few years now. Woudln't change them for anything.

I have an icemat which I hate. It gets very scratchy even with minor dust and then cleaning the dust out off the mouse becomes a mission and then.....aaaaargh a crumb.
