I love this case. I was going to get this or the PC-77 [black] but ended up getting the latter. Still the 7010 is Awesome (with a capital A)!
Tower cases are just the best, I'll never use anything smaller ever again.
Also, how is the fan you have in the CPU heatsink? I was looking at it but can't find any reviews of it. The red and black will go nice with the EVGA Classified I'm looking at.
That fan is very very good. cant hear it. very silent and provides great cooling. got my 920 clocked at 3.4ghz and the temps last time i checked never go behond 65-66c(can go up to 75-80c with these cpu's)
I love this case but it does gather dust very quickly at the front of the case

I'm just starting a project that's almost identical... P4 3.6 with a 7800GT (upgraded a couple of times with more RAM and a 8800GT) to i7 920 in an Antec 300.
Can you give me any pointers on the cooler ? What was it ? Tips for fitting the thing ? I get a little paranoid about strapping large metallic objects to very expensive delicate items.
Did you find any other tips and tricks in the assembly ? I'd really appreciate the help. Ta.
That cooler was a blooming PAIN to fit on my mobo. took me nearly 2 hoursto do it!
Dont be worried about being paranoid. i took out my cpu multiple times to reapply the paste thingy as i keep messing it up every time i tried to fit that massive cooler on lol but once you know how to do it, its pretty simple.
the instructions are poor and it was a nightmare installing the fan on it using one of the wires. use both of the wires that come with it to install it as its easier and more secure. Some people only use one wire to fit the fan so they can later use the other wire to fit another fan on the other side for a push/pull effect.
Dont screw the heatsink in too tightly or else you may crush your dear old cpu! tighten it enough that its secure enough. You can still rotate and twist the heatsink while its installed but dont worry. thats only because of the Paste that you put on it that makes it slippery and a bit challenging to hold it steady while screwing it down(again, had to reapply the paste lol).
Now about the case. It was a breeze installing stuff on it. it was soo easy to work in and very very roomy indeed. my only beef with this case is that it needs more holes at the back of the mobo tray to make it easier to tidy up the cables but other then that, its a great looking case that is sooo light!
its very very easy to take apart the case too. no force needed to open the side panels and the front part can be taken off without a screw driver or any force whatsoever. i take off the front cover every week to clean out the dust filters which is very easy to access but gets dusty very quickly.
i highly maintain my new pc cleaning it 3-4 times a month inside it using a air compressed can and a good old MR shine spray with a cloth
overall, the hardest part of assembling this was the heatsink. everything else was painless.
Yup it's the heatsink that worries me. Still no pain - no gain.
I may post some pics as well when I get this going.
How do you mean? Like on the outside? Or the inside? The whole front of the PC-77 is bezel (with dust filters) so I hope mine doesn't get dust insideI love this case but it does gather dust very quickly at the front of the case
Good thread, Which heatsink is it and how does it compare to this one? Is it just down to personnel taste.
