Booting from a USB Floppy Drive

Just been given a USB floppy drive for free and as neitehr my laptop has one nor my main pc I was hoping to be able to use it with them as a boot drive. Firstly I presume this is possible as I know you can do it from USB flash drives but could someone confirm this for me. Secondly could you tell me how exactly to do this can I just set the BIOS to boot from a usb device or something?
