    Eeeek

I've just upgraded my shuttle by fitting what i thought was an XP2600 Barton. However, certain things are leading me to think that the retailer in question has actually sent me a Thoroughbred instead of a Barton. I know I can check the processor by its code, is there any way to do this without having to disassemble my PC again?

I;ve tried Sandra and yeah, it said it was a Thoroughbred but I wasnt entirely confident since it was misreporting other things about my system. Anyway, I checked and it definitely IS a Thoroughbred, now I have to sort out a replacement, grrr.

Are you really sure? Are you running he latest Sandra? Easiest way is to go into your BIOS and see what multiplier it is running at, the Bartons run at a lesser multiplier of 12x instead of a T-Breds 12.5x.

Multiplyer is speed dependant (yours is a 2600+, so read the above post). sandra or cpu-z should say multi anyway.
2600+ was not one of the main barton speeds, by that I mean it was released later and I never noticed it much in shops. 2500+, 2800+ and 3200+ are the main ones I remember.

No, I meant the XP2600+ Bartons run with a multi of 12x, and the XP2600+ T-Breds run with a multi of 12.5x. Trust me, I did a head-to-head review on the two of them.
