    Sennheiser CX 300 - crap.

I've had 3 pairs of these now, and all of them have gone the same way after ~6-8 months.
Something goes wrong with the jack so that sound only comes out from one phone.
Getting pretty sick on this happening so can someone suggest a pair of similar sound isolating buds for around £20?

    Thanks in advance.

What model of the shures is it?
I don't mind paying a little extra for quality - I use my earphones pretty much every day

Re: Sennheiser CX 300 - crap.

they have changed the shape of the Jack on the ones I've got, as my original pair went the same way
had them about 4 months now and they're still fine, daily (all day) use too.

Re: Sennheiser CX 300 - crap.

    i use sony mdr-ex32

love the sound quality but can't recommend them on reliability, i do listen loads (at least 2 hours a day, long walk to uni + gym etc.) but never last more than 8 months.

    only around 15 quid though

If they are real Sennheiser, they will replace them.

Re: Sennheiser CX 300 - crap.

how much better are the razer earbuds compared with ep 630's?. I have the 630's and they give off some static and are not the best looking for an upgrade, they dont look different to what connection the creatives use apart from that adaptor which would seem pointless for a tiny mp3player(sansa clip i have). Anything around £15 i should look at?

PS: sorry for hijacking thread but thought id ask.

Re: Sennheiser CX 300 - crap.

Do you have a habit of wrapping your earbuds around your player/phone/etc. and shoving it in your pocket when not in use? Most earbuds don't handle that too well (you don't need to put it back in it's case everytime, but try not to wrap it too often).

After the second time, I started making an extra special effort not to wrap them up

Agent - I'm pretty sure I bought them from amazon, I'll need to double check.
Not sure how it works from Amazon, I don't order there often but is the order confirmation email enough for proof of purchase?

Ideally I can replace the cx300, sell them and get a pair of the Razers.

Infact if anyone can recommend a better pair for £15 I'll prob just order them later today

    Cheers.

I have had Sennheiser gaming headsets in the past and all with inline volume adjustment and they have all gone the same way with cables breaking away from the inline control, poor build quality.

OTOH I'm absolutely delighted with my HDR-130s. Best Headphones I've ever had, supremely comfortable, and no wires to boot.

Re: Sennheiser CX 300 - crap.

i had a pair of the CX 300. they lasted about a year, and thats with wrapping them round my ipod, sleeping with them in and getting tangled, and in and out of the gym bag.

much more reliable that a pair of sonys (i forget the model) that died after the first use.

i now have 3 pairs - one for gym use (which has been wrapped around a cable tidy for about a year), one for general use/sleeping/general wear and tear stuff, and one for using when i know i will look after them... as it were.

the general wear and tear one only failed the other week, again, after about a year of solid use, but it was only the left ear... just like my first pair
