    Re: E6600

Very much discontinued. E5*00 pentium dual cores are pretty much what the E6600 was but 45nm.

E7*00 are nice up in cache size.

I'd get the E5400 if it's still around £70 but the E5200 will clock to 3.0GHz and above anyway.

I was thinking of that one, not sure though

I feel it a sin to leave a CPU at stock!

The best bet IMHO is to get an E5200 and overclock it!! With a 800mhz FSB and a 12.5x multiplier you should get to 3ghz+ easily!!

It also costs under £60 from Scan:

Im not a multiplier overclocker, i prefer to up the fsb, and its stock fsb is only 800mhz quad pumped so thats only 200mhz!

    ????????

This is what I am implying in the first place!!

I overclocked my E4300 for example from 1.8ghz to 3.1ghz by simply increasing the FSB from 800mhz(4x200mhz) to 1380mhz(4 x 345mhz) and this was on a 975X motherboard.
