Looking at the Hexus's news here: http://channel.hexus.net/content/item.php?item=17367 price of DDR2 memory are going up. I guess I should really get some now - some
I was just wondering what I should go for. Ebuyer had some very good deal last week (including the OCZ Reaper 8500 at £52), but most of those deals have expired and back up £10 higher.
I would ideally like to spend not a lot more than £40 for good PC2 6400 memory, or £50-ish for good PC2 8500 memory. At the top of my list now is the G.Skill PK 8500 RAM which can be had for about £50. A quick Google suggests they aren't great clockers, but I take it that it will at least do 1066Mhz.
Before I take the plunge (would like to order today), does anyone else have a better suggestion?
The one thing I noticed about the G.Skill, is that it doesn't seem to take a range as wide as other memory in terms of voltage. I think it's rated at 2.0-.21V, whereas other brands like OCZ and Crucial (I think) have memory that support as high as 2.3V. Is that a detail of significant importance?
(I would quite fancy a good deal on a Crucial Ballistix or OCZ Titanium/Platinum)
