    ATI Drivers

    Hey
Recently i had a problem with my graphics drivers, crashed twice within an hour, so i decided to update. Since then, i get 30fps in almost any 3d application, and for me, 30 fps is like 15 fps (ie, not smooth) - Ive tried older drivers, and the latest one, all are the same! :/ - In 2D applications, it isnt too smooth (ie moving windows arround or typing even) It happened after i upgraded my drivers, and wont get better

    Any ideas?

    Thanks

    Re: ATI Drivers

    Try this:
    1.)Uninstall drivers
2.)Use Driver Cleaner or Driver Sweeper to remove all traces of the drivers:

    http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=745

    http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=1655

    3.)Re-boot and install drivers again

Also check that your graphics card is not overheating!

    Re: ATI Drivers

Well, since august (building), about 80c idle and 100c load is perfectly normal, stock cooler on HD4850 sucks, unless its at 100%, in which case 60c load is the maximum!! Dunno what happened for my drivers to crash, thenthe idea of ‘lets upgrade’ came to mind, I can confirm that in some games such as CSS the problem is available, and possibly typing, moving windows, opening windows, that isn’t very smooth, so something is up, fixed a mate’s pc who was like that, had no drivers, so suggesting it is the drivers. Thanks for that , will give it a shot later (note in l4d, cod4, etc, there is no problem, and those are much more graphical, likewise with benchmarks!)

    Re: ATI Drivers

It might be worth checking the graphics card is seated properly in the slot. I have experienced cases were 3D acceleration wasn't available at all or worked but with very low performance \ crashy because the card had worked itself lose.

    Re: ATI Drivers

Might need a windows re-install. Try updating directX first, then if that doesn't work try going back to a system restore point from when it was stable, then if that fails, reformat.

If that fails, get new graphics hardware.
