Just wanted to find out whether you guys leave the switch on at the back on the PSU once your rig is powered down or if you also switch it off by the switch?
cheers

on, cant be arsed to go hunting the switch :)
I keep mine on. With it off, all power is lost to the PC. this places more strain on the BIOS battery, probably unnecessarily, but then again it's easily replaceable so I'd not feel too guilty for doing it to save the few (if that) watts it consumes in "off" mode. More to the point when the system is entirely powered down, it takes a little longer to start up - it POSTS twice to check the OC settings etc.
On. Can't really see the point it finding it.
The only reson it goes off is if i'm working inside the pc.
On a side note to Mithrandir you might want to set up a poll for this
Thanks guys.
I've added a poll handscombmp. :)
On, but I wish the little LED on the mobo would go off, cos it keeps me up a night:(
I keep mine on, no need to turn it off
On, Too much grief hunting around for the switch. I do my bit for global warming in other ways. :p
I just leave mine on and get the mains switch on the way out of the room, unless im working on the thing or pulling the plug directly, then i switch it off.
Hawker
On, however I have planted a tree in my back garden to offset any carbon produced due to my laziness :D
I turn all my computer equipment off at the wall socket when it\'s not on. Altogether it uses ~25 Watts when it\'s all "off", which is unacceptable as far as I\'m concerned.
I was the only one who voted off, but i see others just switch it off at the wall socket so I\'m not really alone. Been doing it for about a year now.
I only use the pc in the evenings so no point leaving it on, and the HTPC is used mainly only at the weekends.
I couldn\'t because my PC is always on.
I always leave my PC in standby mode, the only time I switch off is when I\'m going in for an upgrade or tweak... Then I switch off the PSU and give the system a few mins to discharge.
On.. Standby power consumption is negligable.
On at the PSU, off at the wall.
