still crashes after reinstall!!
How does it crash?
opens the options window, but when i click the benchmark button it opens a further windows but the whole system then freezes and locks up completely

I also have the issue with crashing - but if you go to Task manager and end the first STALKER benchmark process then it works fine. Weird.
Yep I was just about to mention this, its exactly the same for me.
Just a quick update with the new Catalyst 9.2 drivers made a decent difference
Same CPU and Mem settings on an interesting note CPU speed has a big effect when running at 2.33GHz my score dropped to ~5.5K (stock card speeds).

Oh and more people do the benchmark you do not need the game to do it the benchmark file you download has everything it needs to run.
Following on from my comments concerning CPU speed at higher resolutions you will see less benefit from higher speed.

I know I'm so pleased i got another. Err a bit of topic but anyone know why there running at PCI-E X8 and not the full X16?Crossfired 4850 FTW

I would imagine thats down to your motherboard not supporting x16 in crossfire?

Also my DX10 Advanced runs at 1680x1050 rather than 1280x1024. Are yours the same?

Sure mine ran at 1280x1024, did you have the "1280x1024 is supported" box checked when you ran it?
Yup, it was checked but for some reason it reverts to running at 1680x1050.
