i7 rig graphics card question
Hi, time to upgrade my PC. I've been running a P4 2.4GHz for years and years and very rarely want to upgrade, so I wanted to make this one last, like the P4 has. I've been waiting for Scan to do a decent Combo on Today only, and Todays looks good. I just need to grab a decent gfx card, and thats where you lot help :)
Intel i7 920, Socket 1366 Combo
LN25447 6GB (3x2GB) Corsair Dominator DDR3, PC3-12800 (1600), 240 Pin, Non-ECC Unbuffered, CAS 8, DHX, EPP
LN24811 Asus P6T Deluxe, Intel X58, SLi/Xfire, Sok 1366, PCI-E 2.0, DDR3 1066/1333/1600(OC), SAS/SATAII, ATX
LN24979 Intel i7 920, Socket 1366 (B), Nehalem, 2.66GHz, Cache 8MB, Retail + Far Cry 2
LN25954 Xclio Godspeed Two Black Mid Tower Case w/o PSU
+ LN23245 850W NorthQ Black Magic Flex Modular Green PSU 80%+ Eff' 135mm Silent Fan Crossfire X/Quad SLi
+ Graphics?
I was looking at a GTX 260 @~£220 (LN25967) I am running a GF 6800GT at the moment, on AGP, so i'm guessing anything PCI-e will look good. Any suggestions on a good gfx to pair with this system.

Re: i7 rig graphics card question
GTX 260 certainly is a nice card. Either that or an ATI 4870 1 GB, I'd say. That seems like a pretty nice today-only system on scan :)
Incidentally, in another thread I've been putting together a reasonably cheap i7 system for the purposes of building a render farm for my brother's company. You might like to look at the spec I've been working on for the sake of comparison:

about ~£620 pre VAT, and the graphics card is some joke £10 one, as it's not important for this application.
As seen in this thread:

Re: i7 rig graphics card question
Thanks Fraz, I went for the GTX260, needed to order last night, I'm sure it will run fine!
Thank certainly is a budget build for an i7! Couldn't you knock £19 off that and get the Retail i7 920, and then possibly sell the Far Cry 2 game on eBay for a few quid more. :)
