    Compatibility advice needed

I was wondering if anybody can advise me on a question. A friend has just ordered a new cpu and needs to know if it is compatible with a motherboard he already has had for a couple years.

    Cpu is: AMD Athlon 64 X2 6000+ 3GHz Socket AM2 2MB L2 Cache

    Motherboard is: Foxconn NF4K8AC-RS-1.0

    Would they be ok together?

    Re: Compatibility advice needed

Nope and tell him not to try something stupid like cutting it up to fit.
I remember seeing a thread ages back (on another web site) about some twonk who cut up his new pci-e graphics card to fit it in a agp slot and then wondered why it didn't work.

I'll see if I can find it, it was great for a laugh.

EDIT: found it, he cut it down to fit in a pci slot not agp
