    Re: Which DDR2 2GB

I'd go for the Corsair, If your motherboard supports dual channel or you plan to upgrade your motherboard in the future I'd get a 2x1Gb kit.

    Re: Which DDR2 2GB

I'd say the corsair, not because it's corsair but because it's two 1gb sticks (assumeing you've got the spare slots)
Looking at your specs looks like it's an older mother board so maynot support single 2gb memory sticks

I'd also look up details on that motherboard to see what sort of memory compatibility it has.

    Re: Which DDR2 2GB

Right, I see where your at now. You want to increase to a total of 3Gb but, you only have two available slots.
I would still go with Corsair but, you will have to get the single 2Gb stick. Maybe see if you could buy a used one from somewhere.

I have been using crucial for upgrades for a long time I also use
corsair for new intel builds and kingston for new AMD builds
Experience is something you don't get until just after you need it.

    Crucial site says

"Each memory slot can hold DDR PC3200,DDR2 PC2-8500,DDR2 PC2-6400,DDR2 PC2-5300 with a maximum of 1GB per slot.*"

Is that right or wrong? I assumed I could install 2GB per slot

    please help

    Re: Which DDR2 2GB

    Got the 4GB Corsair XMS

Either going to flog the 1GB I have or one of the 2GB, since I dont have 64bit OS and not alot of 2GB are available on "fle bay"

    Re: Which DDR2 2GB

I'd sell the 1Gb and keep the 2x2Gb At least it gives you scope to upgrade to a x64 OS and/or a dual channel motherboard.
