i am thinking of bidding on a gigabyte ga-400l mobo,undefined but the seller says to use brown die chip not green can anyone explian what the differance is please
he also said that it goes for all gigabyte boards

I think he means that some AMD processors are green, while others are brown. This indicates different types of core - some boards have trouble running newer core designs. Not too sure which is which though.
Colour is irrelivant IIRC, different factories used whatever they could get....
Green or brown makes absolutely no difference at all. You seller is talking a load of BS.
yep, brown/green do not coordinate which core, simply which material they get.
