Hey,
Just wanted to know if it is possible to be able to control 2 pc's with one keyboard...
I was thinking along the lines of ...

Im not sure if there a think that allows to you to split it as, wouldnt both type the same things? as it wouldnt be able to tell which computer you wanted.
The best bet is to network them and use a remote program. such as RADMIN. Or just get another keyboard :)

Um, no it wouldn't work.
The keyboard would receive two sets of input voltages, and if they were slightly different it would cause all sorts of problems, also the timings wouldn't be identical and you'd have all sorts of nightmares if you got lucky and didn't smoke the PS2 controller.
If somebody has actually managed it, please correct me. However, I think you'll need a software approach to this problem.
edit: By the way, I LOVE the diagram. If somebody could make a working splitter that looks exaclty like that I'd give them an air guitar!
KVM switches?.
Get a Belkin KVM switch, got one here and it's great.

I think KVM switches are used to control different computers one at a time so would be no good to you.

Theres good info on the PS2 interface there. I only skimmed through it but it seems like you could cut out the VCC and ground lines on one of the DIN plugs and just have the clock and data lines connected to both.
I dont know wether this would cause some strange problems with computer to keyboard communications ie any signal would from one of the computers would go both to the keyboard and the other computer. May be able to get around this by using diodes on one of the cables but i should imagine this would confuse one of the computers.
Couldnt you get 2 identical keyboards and put the membranes on top of each other, then shove the extra membrane in one keyboard case and mod a hole for a new plug?
Why would you want to control 2 PCs with the same keyboard at the same time?
