PSU's who are the actual makers?
Seen that Corsair use Seasonic and CWT for their model range, but who makes the models branded up as BFG, Coolermaster, Zalman, etc? And any other big labels that are well regarded.
Also who is considered the best for warranty outside of the first year? I know Corsair list a 5 year warranty, but if it needs to be sent back to USA then probably cheaper to buy a replacement?
Re: PSU's who are the actual makers?
If you buy from scan, corsairs 5 year warranty is straight to them.
I would recommend OCZ (now owners of PC power and cooling), Enermax and Seasonic/Corsair (excluding CWT because I have no experience with them).
As for who makes them, well there a few major players but most are rebrands these days. FSP make/made their own, seasonic and enermax. I suppose PC power and cooling do.
Re: PSU's who are the actual makers?
Antec - HEC, CWT, Delta, Seasonic, FSP
XClio - CWT
Corsair - Seasonic, CWT

OCZ - FSP, 3Y, Topower
Coolermaster - Hipro
MSI - Solytech
Enermax - erm... well... Enermax :D

Re: PSU's who are the actual makers?
Thanks for the replies.
Found out that Corsair uses the Netherlands for RMA. But if Scan provide a UK RMA for the full five years that pretty good. There is meant to be another UK retailer that offers the same full term RMA service, but not found out who.
Re: PSU's who are the actual makers?
When I did an RMA on my Enermax because one of the fans didn't spin, It was a UK address and they sent me another brand new one (sealed in a box) by return of post.
Lucky really, As the company I bought it from said it was normal for the fans not to spin at start up :stupid: and they had no intentions of changing it.
Re: PSU's who are the actual makers?
Enermax are no longer UK based for RMA. I believe scan do the same deal for them but you need to check that.

I must admit it was probably 2 or more years ago.
Re: PSU's who are the actual makers?
When I was looking for a PSU I came across the below website which seem to carry out more involved reviews than many other websites - part of which is taking the whole thing apart and establishing who it is that actually made the PSU...

Re: PSU's who are the actual makers?
Seen Corsair have a HX450 with 7 years warranty

Seasonic make the earthwatt, Trio and NeoHE models
The basiq models are made by CWT
Not sure on the others.
Couple of others I know of.
Delta made older Dell psu's and a large number of laptop power bricks.
As far as I remember all current Thermaltake psu's are made by CWT it's only older models that where made by other companies
