Does anyone have an experiance with these fans? I plan to kit out a TJ10 with 5 of these or would that be a very noisy bad idea? If so could you recommend a different fan.

    Aye.

Had them in my first PC at full 12v there noticable to say the least but at 7v there quiet and still push a fair amount of air.

If you want quiet go for some nexus fans even at 12v I cant hear them.

I was going to say the same, they made a very noticeable whine for me. It seems that most fan noise comes from the whooshing of the air, rather than the fan and bearings. Rather gutted when I bought them as they were too noisy for me.

If you go for them defo use them in an unobstructed location. And like daza said, pop over to kustompcs they will have the best stuff there to quieten (and cool) your case! Best shop I've ever had the pleasure of dealing with

i had one, but it started to get an annoying buzz. flicking ot tapping the fan would stop it, but eventually the noise would return.

i'll be sticking to yate loons from now on, much cheaper and easily just as quiet as the sharkoon

Re: Sharkoon Silent Eagle 2000 "Golf Ball"

I bought 3 of the 1000 model, managed to get rid of a couple. The third is used in a Seasonic PSU - as it's in the horizontal position it doesn't make the same noises as when it's used as a case fan in vertical position - hope that makes sense (sleeve bearings etc.)

    I don't think you'll find an 2000rpm 120mm fan anywhere near quiet.

I have the 2000rpm Silent Eagle, really noisy at full speed, and terrible at undervolting with audible motor noise at 7V and 5V (check out Madshrimps mass quiet fan review)

Try out the Zalman F3, they are great at undervolting although being 1800rpm full speed are quite noisy personally, but that will all depend on the person.

Re: Sharkoon Silent Eagle 2000 "Golf Ball"

I can't believe how many people've had bad experiences with these.

I did have the 1000's (which were as good as silent, highly recommended) but changed to three 2000's hooked up to a fan controller. They're stupidly noisy at full speed but bring them down a little and I've always thought they gave awesome results.

You can't go wrong with anything here:

    http://www.kustompcs.co.uk/acatalog/Case_Fans.html

If in doubt drop them an email and they will be incredibly helpful! As I said before best company I have ever dealt with, especially when it comes to specialist and more niche-y stuff

Re: Sharkoon Silent Eagle 2000 "Golf Ball"

Thanks for the reply, and to think I wasnt even going to ask this had I not glimpsed the Mad Shrimps review page. Are there any fans that move decent air but are quit on the noise front that dont require an undervolt or a fan bus/controller as I will be using 4 pin molex connectors on most of the fans?

Will probaly go with the Nexus fans Dazza pointed out but I am also looking at Enermax Magma 120mm on Scan but one review said they could be noisy on full load.

noctua fans, they come with cables to reduce the speed and then plug into the 4 pin, my case is full of them and im very happy with them. not cheap but worth it.

FDB bearings so no friction noise

Re: Sharkoon Silent Eagle 2000 "Golf Ball"

u cant go wrong with the fluid dynamic bearings as there floating on oil instead of sleeve or bearing.

treat yourself to a couple, you will soon buy more

if you can afford it go for the ones with notched blades as each fin has a slight accoustic tone and that spreads the noise making it even quieter to the human ear.

if you want quiet you have to pay for it
