    IP35 Help

As a note this is a copy of the same thread I posted in the abit section here, just wanted to get some wider exposure to my problem, if thats not allowed please delete this thread. Thanks mods.

    Hi guys,

I just bought an IP35-dark raider from one of the forum members, but now ive got it I cannot get it working and am after some guidance on if there is anything I have missed, or if it is infact dead as I think. Also I am assured it has the latest BIOS on it.

Now I know all the other components work, as ive tested them all in seperate systems without any problems (ive also taken the components from those systems and tried them on this motherboard without any positive result :S).Specs

Celeron 420 CPU (tested and known working in another PC)
4GB Corsair DDR800 RAM (tested and know working in another PC, also tried known working ballistix 667mhz on the board)
8800GTX (tested and working in another PC, also tried a known working 7100GS)
460W Zalman PSU (tested running my PC2 in my sig with orthos and 3dmark loading it also tried 2 other working PSUs)
Case switch tested and working on another mobo
DVD-RW IDE (irrelevant but working fine)

So this is what happens...Plug it all in, turn on and the red power LED comes on then press the case switch and nothing happens. Ive tried it a load of times in various configs of the above to get it started but nothing happens, ive tried hard starting it with the jumper and a screwdriver, still nothing. Ive reset the CMOS and removed the battery etc. And yes all the power connectors to the mobo were in 24 + 8pin and also the extra molex some of the time to see if that made any difference. Nothing helped. Any other ideas please and if you think as I do that its toast?

Thanks for your help guys and hope that wasnt too long winded.

    Re: IP35 Help

Is the 4Gb RAM, 2x2Gb or 4x1Gb? If the latter try booting with 2 sticks only.

    Re: IP35 Help

Try booting with only 1 stick of ram and go into BIOS to check there is enough voltage getting to the memory modules. I had to do this with my IP35 PRO.

& this is why you shouldn't multipost but keep all info in 1 thread - was suggested hours ago in the other thread but turned out already done to no effect.

    Re: IP35 Help

It was 2x2GB, ive already tried that as said, I dont like double posting, but I want to get to the bottom of this quickly and it seemed the best way to get as many people to view as possible. Ive now also tried an E6400 CPU in it instead of the celeron and its done nothing to help.

Thanks for the input, any more ideas welcome.

    Re: IP35 Help

Have you checked the bottom of the motherboard isn't shorting out ?

Have you tried the stick of ram in different ram slots as I RMA'd a board with 1 dodgy slot and it would not boot
