    Re: upgrade mobo

For that budget a P45 motherboard such as...

    Biostar
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Biost...-SATA-RAID-ATX

    Asus
    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Asus-...-SATA-RAID-ATX

But thats if i was to spend that much cash tbh if it was me i wud just stick it out until i was ready to do a full upgrade, or get a cheaper S775 such as a P43 . The socket is getting old now and is soon to be replaced so probs not worth splashing too much into it for short term.

    Re: upgrade mobo

Any of these would be fine:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/DFI-B...-SATA-RAID-ATX

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Asus-...-SATA-RAID-ATX

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/MSI-P...-SATA-RAID-ATX

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/MSI-P...00-SATA-II-ATX

Any P35/P45 would be okay, or even a P43/P31 if you wanted to spend less. Presumably you won't be overclocking your CPU?

    Re: upgrade mobo

P43 can overclock just as well as P35 btw.

Its a bit of a mission, you will have to pretty much completely dismantle your PC then rebuild it. I reckon you will have to do a fresh install of windows too. It is possible for some versions of windws to change ur mobo but its such a ball ache its not worth it imo.

    Re: upgrade mobo

As above, everything will need unplugging from the board - make sure you earth yourself by touching the bottom of a radiator or the tap. So that you don't pass any static and cause damage to other items in your system.

It's not a hard task, just can take a bit of patience and can be tedious if you dont' have much space to work with, if I had £100 I would go for:

    http://www.scan.co.uk/Products/Gigab...67-SATA-II-ATX

It has some great features and is well known for It's solid performance, future-proofs you and has the piotential (if you were to want to in future) to overclock.
