Update Asus Premium p5k Black P BIOS

    Hi,

I was wondering if someone could tell me the best way to update my bios with this m'board?
I've been searching the forums and its sugessted to avoid updating through windows, and download the bios onto usb and then flash thorugh the bios itself?

I've not got any problems with the PC, so is it even worth flashing the bios?
    I think I'm running 0404.

    Thanks

If you don't have any problems with the current BIOS and the new BIOS has nothing to offer you, Stay with what you have.

I always flash the BIOS in DOS from a FAT partition on the hard drive.

    thanks for that guys,

    Clunk,
its was your guide on overclocking that made me think about updating my bios, as that is what you recommended in the guide.

I'll take a look at the new features of the bios i guess, and see if its going to be worth it.

    Cheers

Re: Update Asus Premium p5k Black P BIOS

I have this mobo, I know it says its not recommended but i've updated the bios 2 or 3 times in windows using the Asus Update software off the mobo disk and it has worked perfect every time.

If you get the latest bios update from Asus, the Asus Update program is real easy to use, infact if I remember you can use that program to search for latest bios. About 3 clicks and your done, restart the pc and you have latest firmware.

So even though its worked for me, if you don't want to risk it better doing it the other way to be safe.
