Would you recommend Be Quite! 850W PSU or Enermax 850W
Hello, :stupid:
I'm no stranger when it comes to building rigs but the most important aspect of any build is the correct PSU. "To power or not to power is the question" having not enough power is just and damaging as having too much although I must add this is one aspect where I can never make my mind up.
I have done my own calculations and have come up with a figure of between 650W and 850W based on the power ampere given out on all hardware connected to the rig.
1 x 220 x 220 x 30cm DC fan one in side door (LED)
1 x 140 x 140 x 20cm DC fan one in the front of chassis (LED)
5 x 140 x 140 x 20cm DC**
** Two fans in the bottom of the chassis blowing upwards, one blowing across GFX card, one sucking out at the rear and one sucking out air at the top of the chassis.
MB: ASUS RAMPAGE EXTREME I
RAM: 4GB DDR3 CORSAIR CM£X2048
Processor: Intel Duo Core Quad Yorkfield Q9450 2.66GHz
GFX Card: ATI 4870 DDR5 512GB RAM (Will be upgrading to 4870X2 in a couple of weeks)
HDD's: Segate 1 TB, 2 x 500GB, 1 350GB (System backup HDD) These are brand new HDD with the latest firmware already.
Sound: Creative Soundblaster X-Fi
I think that just about covers everything... I would say between 650W and 850W although I have to count for the upgrade to a 2GB GFX card (within the next couple of weeks possible months depending of the price and if they drop or not)
Thanks in advance and I would appreciate some feedback please because I can never make my mind up with.

That is not a true statement, I'm not being funny or pedantic but, You can never get problems or Damage from a higher rated PSU.
The only downside to a more powerful PSU is the initial cost of buying it and also the increased cost of running it.

Very true and one which I agree, I just returned a 1000W PSU and I had major problems with the PSU and I would never have this model again. Unfortunately I cannot name the PSU or manufacturer but this is the reason why I'm buying one again. The ENERMAX Evo range looks nice and it has all the cables I require for future upgrades asds well.
