    Fried Q6700 on a Clevo D901C (Eurocom D9X)

My poor little processor appears to have managed to fry itself (the heatsink fan had got gummed up... didn't find out till too late)...

Anyway; trying to find a replacement Q6700 is proving rather hard as they're now pretty much obsolete parts. So I'm wondering what effect running a Q9400 at 1066MHz FSB instead of 1333 would have on the processor - all I can think of is it would, in effect, be running underclocked but would still function normally.

Anyone have any ideas whether I'm right or not?

    TIA.

Well you need to know if it can take 45nm parts.. as some won't.

    Best bet is a Q6600.
