Who here still has a floppy drive?

Ahhh the old days where floppies were the daddeh. These days unless you want to flash your BIOS, who needs em' ? Most of us boot off the CDs install our OSes and life goes on, but do you still have a floppy drive in your box?

    ...I dont

On the topic of old hardware like floppy drives.

I wish companies would get rid of such legacy ports like the lpt port, comm ports, ps2 ports, etc. I know the Abit MAX series did a lot for it, but not all legacy ports were rid of.

You could put a lot more good features on the back plate (like more RJ45 ports and more usb and sound ports) instead of these old and big ports that are a waste of time.

Personally, I haven't used a floppy drive in over 3 years or so since Win2k came out, I haven't looked back since

I use compactflash to carry my data around. Smaller, Faster, infinatly more reliable.

Floppys should be religated to the 80's, just like 5.25" disk drives and the spectrum

Unfortunatly when your at school floppies tend to be used way too much because its the only thing people understand how to use!

A mess of floppies with MS word documents...

Please can we have more compact flash!

I have a floppy drive, not installed though......

Simple reason.... It doesn't look pretty in my case
In the scenario of the W32.Blaster.Worm, a mates Meg usb drive thingy came in very handy for getting the relevant patches etc

Got about 10 floppy drives not used, had brought orginally for
some Diskless Crunchers running Linux, they served as initial
boot devices before loading main operating system off server.

Plus 1 * dual 5.25 & 3.5 all in one, serves as my get me out
of trouble device if ever needed, got various pre-made
recovery disks made up and Bios-reflash disks.

But all in all not used for ages now and most computers
support alternative boot devices now anyway as mentioned
    in earlier posts.

Out of the 5 machines I have hear not a single one has a floppy fitted into it, I do have one has a last resort type of thing though.
