    Unhappy PC Woes

Well...where do I start im having this problem whereby my pc either randomly shutdowns automatically without no warning then starts up again and/or randomly starts up automatically when its shutdown for a long period of time.

I have tried ruling it down to my PSU, but it isnt the problem (as I dished out on one, on the basis that it was going to solve my problem) ,

I have also tried ruling out any software and programs that may be causing it but with no avail

The power settings in Windows XP havent managed to bring any luck either

I have a feeling that it might my adsl router although the various settings such as wake on lan have been disabled on my network card and in the bios.

Im really stumped and im desperate to solve this problem as it's been going on for about 2 months now. Can anyone shed some light ?

    Thanks In Advance

Tried disabling the wake on modem as well as wake on lan?

My PC boots up on even the slightest disturbance on the phone line. Can't explain the random shutting down though unless you've got a serious problem like CPU over heating or similar.

When the PC shuts itself down, take a look in the BIOS to see the temperatures. They should be below about 50C to be safe I think.

The settings for wake on modem are also disabled, and the cpu temperatures are in the 50's seeming as Palomino cores are usually around those temperatures if not albeit a couple of degrees less.

Even if it was the cpu there aren't any issues with it overheating

Maybe as a helper I think I should tell you my system specs:

    Athlon XP 1900+ (Palomino)
    Abit KR7A-RAID
    TwinMos 1GB PC2700
    Beantech 500W PSU
    ATI 9500 NP
    WD 80GB
    WD 120GB
    Lite-On 52x CD Writer
    Pioneer Slot DVD Drive
    3x Case Fans
    NIC Card

    Other Peripherals:
    Logitech MouseMan Dual Optical
    Memorex Keyboard
    Plantronics DSP-500
    Saitek Cyborg Evo
    Harman Kardon Soundsticks
    NEC FE700+ Monitor

    Thanks In Advance
