Freezing upon boot?
More often than not, when my dad's computer boots up, it freezes at the Windows logo screen with the blue scrolling bar. This just freezes in position and the hard drive light stays on. Once in a while it does boot, but not often.
When I reset it goes to the "Safe mode, safe mode with networking ... Normal mode" menu, and I can get into safe mode fine, so what would you guys recommend?
Thanks

is this system overclocked ? If it is try clocking it down a little and see if that helps. Other than that I can only backup what Da ging has said and try testing the components to see if there is any issues with them.

No it's not overclocked. It's an old 400MHz system that only gets used for Web, email, etc. I changed some bios settings and it booted first time. Fingers crossed. Lol
