    switching to AHCI from IDE ( SATA ) XP with UBUNTU


    how do I switch without having to re install XP
    i've read guides for intel chipset, but problem is, my chipset is nforce 610i (ASUS p5n-mx )
    hdd is maxtor (seagate) SATA 250gb 7200rpm
    when ever i turn on AHCI mode in BIOS , just after window logo, I get BSOD


    not abt osx, its abt linux/ubuntu

    so.. any help ? would repair winxp in ahci mode work ?

    Chap, I'm afraid asking the same question and merely changing Hackintosh to Ubuntu isn't going to do you any favours.

    Even if you have totally changed your mind, I'm afraid not many of the members will help you do something that can be applied as your previous posts.

    I'd suggest that if you really do require AHCI for Ubuntu (which, afaik, works perfectly in IDE mode) then you find a forum where discussion of such topics as previously mentioned is allowed.

    Feel free to stick around with any other questions, but this is something we cannot, and indeed will not help you with.
