    Shuttle problems

I have just built my first shuttle and am having a few problems.
When i turn on the plug and hit the power button, it seems to "sit" on the Shuttle splash screen for a very long time as if it is waiting for something.
Secondly, sometimes when i press the power button, the machine appears to be on, but there is no signal being detected by my monitor. I have to hold the power button and switch it back on again for it to work.

Are both of these problems down to something i havent set up?

try using one of the older rams (low voltage requirement) or just boot up with one stick of ram, then set the ram to the proper voltage. also is it brand new? why not get an rma for it

What model is it BTW?? I own a Shuttle P2 and G2 and they can be VERY picky about RAM. The best thing is to use one stick and to change which slot it is in too. I would manually set the timings to the loosest ones possible and manually adjust the RAM volatages. Sometimes the auto settings do not work probably.

Remember that SFFTech has a large forum dedicated ONLY to Shuttles so you may get more help there.

Cheers, its a SP35p2 Pro running 4GB of Crucial Ballistix RAM. So would it be the RAM causing both of these problems?

    Re: Shuttle problems

are you using 4x1gb? cuz i've had three shuttles that wouldnt boot when you have four sticks of ram. try with only two and by the way the sp35p2 is an excellent overclocker but be best for you to change the northbrige cooler

Yep, I changed the northbridge cooler to a CoolerMaster Blue Ice in my SD37P2.
