arctic cooling freezer 7 problem
I recently cleaned my HSF by taking it out, running it under water and then drying the fins with a hairdryer. The fins got very hot and the heat was conducted to the base which also got very hot. Since putting the cooler back on my cpu my temps are much higher. Could I have damaged the heatpipes when they conducted heat the wrong way?
Re: arctic cooling freezer 7 problem
i doubt it, reseat the heatsink, make sure you dont use much paste
Re: arctic cooling freezer 7 problem
I have already tried reseating it using a small amount of arctic silver 5 but idle temps for an e5200 are about 45 degrees.
Re: arctic cooling freezer 7 problem
have u melted the solder on the end of the pipes ?
Re: arctic cooling freezer 7 problem
I don't think so, I didn't notice it. I thought that it may have been a heatpipe problem because the fins do not feel that hot when the computer is running.
Re: arctic cooling freezer 7 problem
should never wash, should use a make up brush to dust off, forget the air canisters (waste of money)
