Why, why, why have they done this?

I'd noticed that they'd made new pointlessly expensive network cards but rebranding them too??
Suddenly I'm reminded of the XFX Revo cards.....
By all means, Killer NIC can carry on making pointless products, but why has eVGA jumped on-board?
Who at eVGA decided "Yes, we must do this."?
Seems Mr Stupid at EVGA has made another dumb move
moogle I can't decide if you're refering to the stupid pricetag that thing will inevitabley have, or the fact that it's got a waterblock that's going to damage itself with galvanic corrosion over time (or both!).
Mainly the galvanic corrosion (I'm suprised anybody here would know )
Most people accept that those high end hardware parts will be overpriced anyway. Whats more funny is that the EVGA blocks have the warranty tape on them so you'll never know if it's corroding anyway
Even if you do open it then your warranty is gone
It's a very clever system to get more money

Dosen't the galvanic corrsion take quite a long time?
Most people only keep a card like that for a few years!

Ive seen 1 person whom, i know buy one of them (pci version) and then after turn round to me and say "it will increase my Ping on games". I just looked at his wireless set up and nodded and didn't know what to say ................................
I have never seen them cards in the same light since.

Mayhemd Dyes - Put some mayhem in you system today.
Although they're generally noted as one of the more friendly/customer-orientated companies I had a right old kerfuffle with EVGA and a 680i board. I swore after that I'd never buy any more of their products and have stuck to it ever since. Gits.
Is Killer referring to what its going to do to your wallet?
someone really should pm me when another chapter in the killer nic saga happens, bloody hell

they do have a positive effect, but it's really not worth paying through the nose for
what i'd like to see is Xonars and things like this being incorporated into high end motherboards
From what I've read, they are actually meant to be a fair bit cheaper than the old M1/K1s
And to be honest, I reckon they do benefit your ping times - obviously the FPS increase is negligible, and I don't see why they keep on pushing it because it only gives people more ammunition to abuse them with. As said before though, I don't I would be interested unless it was around the £40 mark, and then only for the sake of lowering my pings... although that's probably Tiscali's fault anyway.
