    XP-M Warning!

We have had a lot of emails about this. Some online stores in the UK are selling different mobile chips to the ones which we recently covered here.

There is a signifcant difference between the Mobile CPUs which 'Overclockers UK' and 'CPU-City' are selling. OcUK only appear to have the 1.65v based 'Desktop Replacement' CPUs in stock, and the 1.45v 'uber' CPUs are out of stock (We have had reports that they have 'never' been in stock. However, we have not had a reply from OcUK confirming or denying this at time of going to press.)

CPU-City are stocking the 1.45v CPUs - www.cpucity.co.uk. We have heard that the performance and 'overclockability' is huge between these 2 different voltages. Please be careful.

You need to be careful when selecting which CPU you are buying. AMD have information on the XP-M over on the AMD website.

I can vouch for the CPU city ones, I had 2.9 stable from the 1.45 ver from them.
They were out of stock last week, should have some new stock in by now.

BTW, the only board that I could get to hold the high multi was Abit NF7-S

DFI Infinity2, chaintech 7NJS Ultra both a no go.

They have them back in stock now.

How are things going in the CPC labs on the Overclocking front? PD has a 1.65v one....

As i already mentioned in my thread about AXP-Ms it is trues that OcUK never had the 1.45v variety. It is even admitted in their own forums, although i'm not sure if they have pulled this thread (and others) like they normally do with this sort of issue.
I can only assume that they were desperate to keep up with the competition. CPU-City (and perhaps eBay if your careful) is the only place that i know for sure that sell genuine 1.45v chips - and these are the only mobile chips worth having/overclocking.

It seems there are a few people who are buying from OcUK thinking that they are selling the 1.45v versions of the mobile CPU's. This thread seems to point to at least half-a-dozen sales.

Thanks to iggy2k for pointing me to cpucity or I'd be another one.

The thread you're refering to is here. The problem is that on the main CPU page it says they are the 1.45v ones. But only the 2500's are 1.45v, not the rest

Have CPUCity found another supplier yet, I thought they where having some problems at one stage.

I think you may find that they're sold out already of this weeks delivery but they should have more next week.

I think they are doing a grandjob considering the demand. You have to preorder and wait if you want one from them as they sell imediately

When I talked to the guys at cpu city, they said they were selling like hotcakes.
They like selling them though, so they will have them in asap after selling out.

I can see them increasing the price with this level of demand. A lot of interest in these so hopefully I can get mine soon.

Nah, CPU City had the opportunity to increase the price ages ago, they knew demand would be big! I got mine weeks ago for £70 and guess what... they're still £70!

Grats to CPU City for not taking the mick and treating their customers with respect. I'll be going back to them in the future (is that a nVENTIV Mach II ST on their front page???).
