Ok I need a PSU for a system that will run a GTX 260, AMD 770 Triple Core, 2 Hard drives, DVD burner, thats about it really.

Yes. The 450W Corsair should be fine.
Corsair recommend if use their calculator that the VX450w should be enough if you are not overclocking the CPU and/or graphics card.
If you are overclocking than perhaps one of the following would do:

However I would think that the VX450 should be able to handle a mildly overclocked triple core and graphics card.
Would the Corsair 450w beable to run my graphics card, coz nVidia says that you need a PSU that has a amp rating of 36 amps...the Corsair 450w only has 33 amps...HELP.

Have a look at the Antec EarthWatts 650W PSU @ £62.34, very good stable PSU with 3x12v rails, it has a very good reputation.
Thanks Hiperviper for your concern, looks like a great PSU. The Antec brand really appeals to me right now because ive been looking to buy an Antec P180 mini.
Someone is selling a brand new PSU in the for sale section - I think its an Antec.
The 36Amps are usually overstated to avoid any complaints if people run their cards on low power supplies. For example, a Q6600, with 3 HDDs, GTX 260 only need 28Amps on 12V rail when all loaded to max (rarely) if no OCing. Compare the TDP in watts of your CPU and divide by 12. that will give you the amps on 12V for CPU. then compare it with the above calculation.Quote:

If you do get the corsair 450vx, it only has 1 6-pin pcie power cable. If the GTX260 needs 2, you can get an adapter that converts 2 molex to a 6-pin, and the card might come with that adapter.
Antec are really good as far as i am concerned. Had my one in for nearly 2 years now with no problems. If i had to buy another i would definitely buy Antec again.

I think 500W/600W is probably the best priced at the moment, you would probably pay another 20 to go to 700W. Plus it gives you the extra 50W headroom as comfort that things won't smoke and blow up at any moment.
