hey guys,
I'm in the process of buliding a pc for a friend mainly for office tasks. I've listed the specs at the bottom just in case they make a differences to your recommendations, but basically I need a small case for it that wont result in cooking the hardware and seeing as i'm used to building in cm-690's(my weapon of choice ) I dont really know which one would be best and cool. So basically could i get your opinions about which case to choose... cheerz...
System Specs:
AMD 5050e
Asus 8200
2Gb Corsair
250GB Samsung
Corsair 450w (or cheaper psu lol)

TJ08 gets my vote

TJ08 is a great way to go. I'd suggest a modular PSU if you can (OCZ's modextreme is very reasoanble). The fans need voltage control else they are noisey as hell.

If you are a coolermaster fan though and he is happy with the slightly cheaper look of it, the coolermaster Elite 340 is only £30 or about £50 with a coolermaster PSU (but I wouldn't have that). You do need a fan(s) for it though, 1x 120m will do.

Don't forget the Antec NSK3480 either which will need a couple of 92mm fans to get great airflow (but it's good with just the one 120mm it has) but it comes with a 380W earthwatts for around £70 these days.

It probably consumes less power than the X2 5050e as it is a 45nm processor. The 9300 series chipset also has a low power consumption.

The other bits will be the same as for the AMD based build.

This will raise the build cost to around £350 to £360.

tbh the mini itx build looks like a good option but I kinda wanted to stay away from ati graphics because a. this may turn out to be a linux build in which case i know the ati drivers are horrible and b. the drivers aint much better for windows lol... also i'm trying to keep this build at around £250, thanks for the suggestion though... so it looks like i'll be going with the tj08 case for the build... now i just need a psu... i saw staffsmike's suggestions but i was wondering if anyone knows of a decent psu for around 30 quid, it needs to be cheap but not the kinda cheap that will explode lol... i'm guessing the system will draw about 300w max...

There is a 400w FSP for £28 which has 85% effiency and a 350w Silverstone for £23. These should be enough for such a low powered build.

I used a Corsair 450VX in a TJ08 case, and ended up stuffing all the excess cables in the second optical drive area. As the cables are pretty long it wasn't ideal.

The modular 450HX wasn't in existance at the time. The 450VX cost £44 compared to Scan's current price of the 450HX of £69

I did the same thing which is annoying. I would get the OCZ modextreme even though I do prefer corsair.
