Re: Transfering HDD contents
Just keep the boot order in the BIOS correctly and it doesn't matter if ALL the drives are boot drives, it will load the first one.

Re: Transfering HDD contents
Just transfered all my data across and as i've gone to format the drive so i can use it as extra storage i've noticed that they're is a 55MB (EISA Configuration) partion which i can't delete.
I assume this is for recovery like when you hold a certain button at boot up but i don't want it anymore. Does anyone know how to get rid of it.
Re: Transfering HDD contents
Might need some partition software like Acronis Disk Director, I am sure there are also free alternatives available.
Re: Transfering HDD contents
There should be no need for third-party utilities - just fire up a command prompt and issue the command "diskpart". Then enter "list disk", which will display all the physical drives in your system, followed by "select disk x" (where x is the old HDD).
Finally enter the command "clean", but be VERY careful you've selected the right disk, as this will delete *all* information on the drive - data, partition table, the whole lot.
Exit diskpart, and you should then be able to go into disk management and partition/format the drive as normal (it will tell you the drive needs to be initialised before use, so just hit "yes"). Job done. :)
