    What Motherboard ?

    I have a p4 3.06 533mhz chip. I am looking to buy a new motherboard. I have read a number of reviews and have narrowed the possibilities to:

    1) Cheaper option;
    Abit AI7 or Asus P4P800 Deluxe

    or

    2) Expensive option;
    Abit IC7 Max or Asus P4C800 E Deluxe.

    At the moment the cheap option is the most likely. What would you recommend ?

    However, is there a benefit in paying for the more expensive option ? If so which one ?

    Thanks for your help.

    Whichever you buy you're not going to get the most out of them until you buy an P4C 800Mhz bus chip... If you don't plan to upgrade that for a while then you might as well go for the value option, no?

    They're all going to change this year, so no point buying one as an investment

    All 4 are good motherboards and I've seen very little real world difference between the 865s and 875 - but if you want to see figures, just pop along to anandtech.

    Though I've built a few computers with these, I've felt to reason to upgrade from my P4PE (running a 3.06/533 at 3.5/600) - (maybe cause I just can't be bothered to reinstall windows ATM )
    Now go away before I taunt you a second time.
